IMMEDIATE USE STOPPAGE
For owners of Biltwell Gringo and Gringo S motorcycle helmets in all colours and sizes: Extra Small (XS), Small (S), Medium (MD), Large (LG), Extra Large (XL) and Double Extra Large (2XL), with batch numbers 6011, 6013 and 6070.
Reason for this recall
METRIC MOTION SRL, retailer of Biltwell motorcycle helmets, has been notified that insufficient impact absorption capacity at extreme low temperatures (-20º C) may exist in certain Biltwell Gringo and Gringo S helmets which can in the event of a crash lead to possible injuries up to a risk to life and limb. This notice applies to all colours and sizes Extra Small (XS), Small (S), Medium (MD), Large (LG), Extra Large (XL) and Double Extra Large (2XL) of these helmet models with batch numbers 6011, 6013 and 6070. METRIC MOTION SRL is recalling the entire production lots 6011, 6013 and 6070 that have been sold by us and will provide refunds to owners of the potentially affected helmets.
What METRIC MOTION will do
Refund will be provided to owners of potentially affected helmets. Our suppliers, in cooperation with Biltwell, are executing sample tests on multiple batches of Gringo and Gringo S helmets to re-ensure EC compliance. During the period of executing these tests, METRIC MOTION SRL will cease the sale of all Gringo and Gringo S helmets.
What helmet owners should do
If you are the owner of a potentially affected helmet (see the steps below on how to determine if your helmet is subject to this recall), it is very important that you take the following measures immediately for your own safety:
Cease using the helmet.
Return your helmet to the dealer from which you purchased the helmet, together with a copy of the proof of purchase for refund.
If you no longer have the potentially affected helmet in your possession, please forward without delay the persons in possession of the affected helmet of whom you are aware to their respective dealers.
